CHAN Eagles beat Niger 4-1 in first group match, As Abia Warriors' Chikatara bangs in a hatrick

Could it be that the two-weeks intensive training with series of friendly matches played in South Africa is finally paying off?

It was a much anticipated bright start for the Sunday Oliseh-led Home based Super Eagles as they kick started their campaign on a good note after walloping the Mena of Niger
4-1 in their opening Group C match played at the Stade Regional Nyamirambo, Rwanda in the ongoing 4th Edition of  the CHAN tournament.
Abia Warriors Chisom Chikatara was in sublime form as he superbly executed his hatrick with aplomb and Nonso Eze of Enugu Rangers got the other goal.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Youth and Sports in Nigeria, Bar. Solomon Dalung alongside NFF President Amaju Pinnick, NFF Vice Presidents Seyi Akinwunmi, LMC Chairman Shehu Dikko, and Chairman of the Technical and Development Committee Chris Green were all in the stands to cheer the home-based Eagles of Nigeria to victory against Niger Republic on Monday.

Nigeria is looking forward to better their last performance in the previous edition of CHAN when they won bronze in South Africa in 2014, although defending champions Libya and runners-up Ghana both failed to qualify for Rwanda.
