Ex-NPFL top scorer appointed as new Kogi United's Head Coach

Recognizing our own former cult heroes is a laudable achievement in this our growing new phase of the Nigeria league.
Ishaya Jatau was announced the new coach of Kogi United ahead of the new Nigeria
National League  (NNL) 2015/2016 season.

The experienced 46-year-old Jatau has also coached clubs like Heartland FC, Kaduna United, Ranchers Bees, Mighty Jets and DSS FC of Kaduna and others.

Jatau holds the top-scorer record in the Nigerian league with 17 goals in the year 1990 for 18 years, after which former Akwa United striker, Orok Akarandut equalled the record in the 2008-09 season with 17 goals, while one season after current Super Eagles captain, Ahmed Musa broke the record in the league with 18 goals while playing for former champions, Kano Pillars in the 2009-10 season.
