TRENDING: Red-Hot Odion Ighalo wins EPL award

If you have not heard about him yet, then its either you don't watch football or you hate football.
Odion Ighalo is a benin-born Nigeria professional Super Eagles player who plays for Watford in the
English Premier League. The robust striker has unanimously won the English Premier league's African Player Award for the month of  December 2015. Just recently, Ighalo beat Harry Kane of England to win the English highest goalscorer in a calendar year with 30 goals.

Although he has been around in football, the 26-year-old Nigerian has played for Udinese in Italy, Granada in Spain and now Watford (also bought by the owners of Udinese and Granada) but Ighalo rose to limelight when he netted 20 goals for Watford as they gained promotion even as they narrowly missed out on winning the English Championship last season.
Ighalo has scored 34 goals in 54 appearances for Watford and he is not looking very ready to stop firing any time soon. He has currently scored 14 goals so far this season and he is among the contenders for the highest goalscorer this season with Everton's Lukaku and Leicester City's Jamie Vardy at 15 goals apiece.
Ighalo earned his first International cap for Nigeria in March, 2015 after being called up by new coach Sunday Oliseh against Uganda. But unfortunately, Nigeria lost the match 1-0 to deny Ighalo a happy debut.
It might interest you to also know that Ighalo is a devout Christian as can be testified by his twitter followers. He dedicates part of his wages for Nigeria charitable organizations to help less privileged  children, widows and schools below the poverty line.

Kudos to him as we all wish him well this new year and season
