See Photos of Nigeria Wrestlers as they arrive Egypt ahead of 2016 African Wrestling Championship in Egypt

The head of Team Nigeria Wrestlers Victor Kodei has promised Nigerian fans that his team are gunning for glory at the 2016 African Wrestling Championship which will start from 4th to
6th March in Alexandria, Egypt.

The President of Nigeria Wrestling Federation Hon. Daniel Igali who also arrived with them has been supportive as he bankrolled their camping in Bayelsa State.

The African championship in Egypt is a prerequisite to the Olympic qualifications scheduled for March 30th to April 4th in Algeria.
The team consists of 13 wrestlers; one Greco Roman Wrestler, Four freestyle male wrestlers, eight female wrestlers, while five coaches, a secretary, a person from the National Sports Commission (NSC) will accompany the team.
Male freestyle wrestlers are; Amas Daniel (65kg), Soso Tamara (96kg), Welson Ebikewenimo (67kg) and Melvin Bibo (74 kg) while  Nworie Emmanuel (56 kg) is the only Greco Roman wrestler.
For the female category, Adekuoroye Odunayo, Adeniyi Aminat, Oborududu Blessing, Rueben Hannah, Onyebuchi Blessing, Nweke Rosemary, Genesis Mercy and Nwoye Ifeoma will all be in action.
Nwoye Ifeoma who gave Nigeria Wrestling Federation its first gold medal at the 2010 commonwealth games will feature at the African Wrestling Championships. Ondo state duo, Adekuoroye Odunayo and Adeniyi Aminat won gold medals a piece for the nation at the 2014 Commonwealth games held in Glasgow, Scotland.
Adekuoroye won a bronze medal at the 2010 commonwealth games in the 48Kg. Adekuoroye also won double bronze medals at the 2015 World Wrestling Championship held in Las Vegas, USA and the Golden Grand Prix held in Baku Azerbaijan.
