Fans React To Cristiano Ronaldo's Tweet after winning His Fourth FIFA Ballon d'Or Award

Sensational Portugal and Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo wins his fourth FIFA Ballon d'Or of his career after he announced the 2016 FIFA Ballon d'Or winner after beating Barcelona's Lionel Messi and French midfielder Antoine Greizman. See tweet

The 31-year-old former Manchester United winger took to his Twitter handle to thank both his Portuguese and Real Madrid teammates who made it possible for him. 

Ronaldo who previously won the award in 2008 as well as in 2013 and 2014, when it was officially the FIFA Ballon d'Or, is only the second player to win it a total of four times, trailing only Messi's record of five.

The honour caps a memorable year that saw Ronaldo win the Champions League with Real Madrid and the European Championship with Portugal -- the country's first major footballing silverware.
